Description

Martoccia Brunello di Montalcino Riserva DOCG

A remarkable expression of one of Italy’s most prestigious red wines, the Martoccia Brunello di Montalcino Riserva DOCG is produced by the Brunelli family in the heart of Montalcino, Tuscany. Crafted exclusively from Sangiovese Grosso and sourced from exceptionally low-yielding vineyards, this Riserva showcases the elegance, power, and longevity that have made Brunello di Montalcino famous around the world.

The Brunelli family has deep roots in Montalcino, with generations dedicated to farming the region’s rugged hillsides. Today, Luca Brunelli continues the family’s commitment to quality, carefully managing vineyards situated among the highest elevations in the Brunello DOCG zone. His meticulous approach allows only four grape clusters per vine, resulting in extraordinarily low yields and exceptional concentration of flavour.

Aged for up to 42 months in a combination of Slavonian oak casks and French oak barriques, followed by additional bottle maturation, this Riserva delivers outstanding complexity and structure.

Tasting Notes

Deep ruby garnet in colour, this Brunello Riserva opens with intense aromas of wild berries, black cherry, dried roses, spice, tobacco, and subtle vanilla oak. The palate is full-bodied and powerful yet beautifully balanced, revealing layers of dark fruits, earthy notes, leather, and sweet spices. Fine-grained tannins and vibrant acidity provide remarkable length and ageing potential.
